Our consultancy division is set up as a direct reaction to our continuous challenge in managing our internal employees. Working with different age groups and academic background, we realize that there are tremendous challenges organizations are expected to bear in terms of capable employees and labor laws. In our last few years, we have noticed that a lot of factors are influencing the Ethiopian labor market; the economic growth has attracted many foreign investors to invest in Ethiopia, while the country has faced with large-scale of emigration of highly educated people to more developed countries. This means that organizations will be facing a great challenge in finding and retaining capable employees, which can lead their organization to a higher place in this competing market.
Despite, the continuously claim of many stakeholders for cheap labor in Ethiopia, we happen to be competing with professionals from East European countries, who can offer a cheaper labor forces against lower salary and tax obligation. Our bitter experience taught us that the high unemployment rate is valid for lower-level employees, but high-level professionals seem to be at scarce.
